Pure Anada Control Mattifying Primer - Lady’s Mantle and Chia Seed

Skin Types: For oily prone skin.

How to Use: Apply ½ dropper of product on clean, moisturized skin prior to makeup application. If trying to eliminate excess oils, a separate moisturizer is not needed. Pure Anada Calm Hydrator may be used on top of Control Mattifying Primer if required, to soothe irritated skin conditions.

Sebum can be a good thing.  It provides the skin with a protective barrier, functioning as a film former to seal in moisture.  However, in this case there can be too much of a good thing!  Excess oils cause skin to look greasy, attracting dirt and debris, making the skin look dull.  Oily skin causes makeup to shift throughout the day.   

There are three common ways that people attempt to reduce excess sebum production.  

1. Strip the skin with harsh alcohol-based toners.  The results in a rebound effect, causing the skin to go into sebum-producing overdrive.   
2. Apply oil absorbing powder to keep the shine down.  This works aesthetically, but it doesn’t address the root cause of the oil production.  
3. Biochemically blocking the formation of sebum on the skin with prescription medications, leaving the skin dried and unattractive.

Lady’s Mantle Extract was shown to significantly decrease sebum in an in-vivo study.  Four female subjects between the ages of 23-25 participated in the study which showed up to a 30% decrease in sebum on the nose, and cheek area.  Participants individually noted that the treated side was described as smoother, more matte and better overall base for makeup application.

  I used the matifying primer under my stage makeup, along with the matte translucent powder, for a whole weekend of performances. It kept my makeup SHINE FREE all day through the hot sun, dancing in +30 degree weather on an outdoor stage. It also protected my acne-prone skin from breaking out from the stage makeup. Three days of wearing heavy makeup all day and no new pimples thanks to this amazing primer. I’m now using it daily under my everyday makeup and I am shine free.

  Perfect primer for my oily skin. I used to have to touch up my make up every 3-4 hours because the oil from my skin would mess it up. It also did not help that I work in an office with AC, so my skin produces even more oil to combat the dry air. I use this primer, with a Tinted Moisturizer as foundation, and now my make up stays fresh and matte the whole day! The only complaint I have is that when the bottle came, a bit of the serum has leaked out around the neck. However, the amount leaked was minimal, and the serum itself works so well that it still deserves a 5-star review.

  This is by far the best primer for my oily skin. My makeup stays fresh looking for most of the day instead of an oil slick by late morning. A few dabs of bamboo absorbent tissue on my face I'm good to go for the evening

  This product is amazing! I have very oily skin. By late morning my face is so oily, it ruins my makeup. This is by far the best primer, my make up looks fresh all day.
