Why do you sell essential oils?

Pure Anada specializes in natural bath and beauty products. While we don’t claim that essential oils are our area of expertise, we do use them in our products for their therapeutic and sensory properties. In our local boutiques, our customers began asking us to bottle these oils for their own personal use. We figured it was a great idea!  For a comprehensive resource on the benefits of essential oils and how to use them, we recommend the The Essential Oils Apothecary book written by Eric & Sabrina Ann Zielinski.

Where do you source your essential oils from?

We purchase our essential oils from three different distributors who source from global suppliers. Many of these producers have organic certification status.

Are your essential oils pure and authentic?

Sometimes essential oils sold to consumers are diluted and/or synthetic. We are confident in our suppliers as reputable sources for true, undiluted essential oils. They are able to provide us with a certificate of analysis as well as a GCMS - Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry Analysis for each lot.

Can your essential oils be ingested?

For liability reasons we do not recommend ingesting essential oils. This isn’t because they are contaminated or impure.  Many of our suppliers have organic certification status which is the highest proof of authenticity and purity.  We do not recommend ingestion because undiluted essential oils are extremely potent plant extracts that could potentially cause harm to the digestive system and other soft tissue.

Can your essential oils be applied directly onto skin?

Essential oils are very potent and could possibly irritate skin if not used carefully. It’s important to dilute essential oils with a carrier oil to avoid skin sensitivity. Dilution is also beneficial as it prevents the highly volatile essential oils from evaporating too quickly.  Ironically, diluting essential oils in a carrier oil helps it to last longer on your skin than applying neat (or undiluted).  Our Nurture - Carrier & Massage Oil makes an ideal carrier oil.

Note: Essential oils should also never be used near the eyes, inner nose, and ears, or on any other particularly sensitive areas of skin, even when diluted.
